Welcome To The Directorate Of Information And Communication Technology Center (ICT)

A warm welcome to the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre The ICT Centre was established in the year 2010, under the headship of Dr. M.B Lawal, with three (3) other members of staff who were redeployed to the Centre. Dr. Victor Akinola was the second Director that served the Centre between 2013 and April 2017. Dr. Adeleke I.A. served as Deputy Director between 2016 and 2017 and later appointed as the Centre Director by the College management with effect from April 2017

Mission/Objectives

To computerize student’s registration and academic results for ease of access and record keeping.


Vision

To be a centre of excellence in establishing an electronic network of relationship among the various stakeholders of the college and the global environment for development.


Scope and Responsibilities

  1. Students’ online course registration, computation of results and release of processed academic results and transcripts.
  2. Courses updating on database
  3. Provision of Internet services for the entire College community and capacity building of staff for computer literacy/skills acquisition.

Units and mode of operation

Units and Functions:
  1. Management Information Systems Unit

    • Result processing
    • Managing students and staff database
    • Process information for the Management and other accredited users
    • Process and issuance of ID cards
    • Attends to student and staff complaints
    • Taking care of students online registration
  2. Maintenance and Training Unit

    • Develop software for college
    • Troubleshooting and Repairs all computing equipment in the college
    • Identifying programming and training needs of the college
    • Organising computer training programme for both staff and students
    • Provides commercial services to the college eg. Statistical analysis (SPSS), graphic design etc
    • Generates business ideas for the college
    • Organizing professional certification courses
    • Paying attention to customer complaints and inquiries
  3. Network and Internet Services

    • Provides internet services to the college
    • Routine maintenance of network and infrastructures
    • Manages network security
    • Attend to network faults and user complaints
    • Administration of some professional examination eg (CISCO)

Achievements

The Centre has been able to publish online students’ results for nine (9) academic sessions. It has effectively registered students – NCE Regular, School of Part Time Studies, Prelim, Sandwich Degree and Regular Degree students online. The College website was ranked number one among the colleges of Education website in Nigeria in the year 2016.
